This August, we’re helping families get back into school routines with confidence at Main Street Family Medicine. From vaccines to sports physicals to outdoor safety tips, we’re here to support your family’s health every step of the way!
Got a student athlete at home? Be sure to schedule their sports physical—Washington State requires this quick, comprehensive checkup for school sports participation. We’re making it easy by offering Sports Physical Day on August 7, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Physicals are valid for two years and are included in your MSFM membership—schedule yours today!
It’s also the perfect time to check your child’s vaccine records. Kindergarteners should be up to date on their MMRV and DTaP boosters, and sixth graders need their Tdap vaccine to start school on the right foot. These vaccines protect against measles, tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough. If you’re unsure what your child needs, we’re happy to help.
Planning outdoor adventures before summer ends? Don’t forget about tick safety! In Washington State, ticks can carry Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Avoid tall grass, wear long clothing, and always do tick checks after time outdoors. For more information, check out the Washington State Department of Health tick resource page.
And just a quick heads-up—our office will be closed on September 1, 2025 in observance of Labor Day.
Thank you, as always, for being part of our MSFM community. Whether you’re wrapping up summer or getting ready for school, we’re here to keep your family healthy and thriving!
